SECURE YOUR OWN SALES
Here is an example of how it works:
- Your business sells goods or provides services to ABC Ltd. and after six months your receivables from ABC Ltd. add up to $100K;
- Other suppliers are doing the same and they are owed $900K;
- A Bank provides an operating line of credit to ABC Ltd. and they are owed $100K from ABC Ltd. This line of credit is secured (using the same fundamentals as SYOS) giving the Bank the first secured position as a creditor;
- Lastly, the assets of the ABC Ltd. are worth $200K.
When your customer, ABC Ltd., realizes it can no longer carry on with its business, its assets are sold and the proceeds are distributed as follows:

Without SYOS you are 10% of all the unsecured creditors ($100K out of $1 M) and with SYOS, you are the second ranking secured creditor, so you get all the proceeds after the Bank is paid.
With SYOS’s obvious financial benefits, you might be asking: “Why doesn’t every business use SYOS?”
The simple answer is every business owner does not put their best foot forward all the time. In the case of SYOS most business owners do not even know the opportunity exists.
One comment we get is, “Will the customers sign the new documentation?”
The answer we give is “Yes!”
- SYOS is, in essence, the addition of a short paragraph to the documentation you are presently using with your customers (eg’s purchase orders, work orders, credit applications, and engagement letters).
- If you do get questions from your customers, the SYOS package provides you with the logical answers to inquiries.
- SYOS is a systematic change to your business practice which over the long run will add to your bottom line. If you want to build in exceptions for certain customers, they are easily accommodated.
